The Village.
Uley is a small, scenic, traditional Cotswold village situated just off the Cotswold Way long distance foot path.The walks in and around the village are many,especially the one mile circular route around Uley Bury where the views across the Severn Vale to the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons are stunning. There is a village shop and Post Office just across the road from the cottage and a pub serving good home cooked food within easy walking distance. The doctor's surgery is two doors down from the cottage if needed.

Uley Brewery can be found in the village brewing traditional real ale, sold locally. Another attraction is the Prema Arts Centre in South Street which has numerous and varied courses and workshops throughout the year.

Transport
The village is served with a limited bus service to Stroud and Dursley.Railway stations at Stroud and Cam/Dursley.

The Locality.
Various shops and supermarkets and takeaway meals are to be found in Dursley,three miles away or Stroud, seven miles.There is an indoor swimming pool in Dursley and an indoor and outdoor pool in Stroud. Both towns also have leisure /sports centres.

Places to visit around the area are numerous including: Owlpen Manor, Uley Bury Iron Age hill fort, Hetty Pegler's Tump (long barrow), Nympsfield long barrow. Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust at Slimbridge, Berkeley Castle and Edward Jenner museum in Berkeley, Westonbirt Arboretum and Gloucester with its cathedral and restored Victorian docks. Bath and Bristol are both around twenty five miles away.

There are two eighteen hole golf courses within a ten minute car drive from the village at Stinchcombe Hill and Cotswold Edge.

Gliding is available at the Bristol and Gloucestershire Gliding Club based at Nympsfield.
